MUSH Vaisto® Yellow cat

A high protein content is not only beneficial as felines are absolute carnivore and their diet naturally consist of small protein-filled pray, but raw food is more filling and keeps your pet satisfied for a longer period of time as it is naturally high in fluids. In addition, the great amino acid composition of Vaisto Cat whole meals prevents muscle loss during weight loss.

It is important to start slowly and patiently on your cat’s weight loss journey. Definite weight loss takes its time– it may even take several months depending on the starting situation. A good weight loss rate is 1% per week, never more than 2%. Trying to lose weight too quickly may lead to hepatosteatosis which is a serious health issue. Weigh your cat regularly, about once a week!

The ideal amount of raw food is between 2-3% of your cat’s ideal weight. For example if your cat should weigh 4 kg, the correct amount of food would be approximately 4 Vaisto Cat meatballs daily. Keep in mind that each cat is an individual – if your cat is losing weight too quickly, the amount must be raised. If your cat is not losing weight while being fed 2% of their ideal weight, would we suggest trying to raise your cat’s activity level.

Please keep in mind that this feeding instruction is to be used only on obesity-prone cats. Cats who are not prone to gain weight often eat larger amounts than 2-3% of their weight!
